Fall is a beautiful time of year. The leaves change colors and fall. The apples are ripe for the picking. The air becomes crisp. It is the start of the new school year and other new beginnings. Ducky and the gang love fall. They enjoy playing in the leaves, apple picking, and most of all Halloween. Every year, they go to a local pumpkin patch and pick the perfect pumpkin for carving. Unfortunately, in Israel we don’t know where a pumpkin patch is, and the local stores do not have traditional American style pumpkins. Then today at the grocery stores, we saw the cutest little acorn squash! They are perfect for DtPb, and helped get them get into the holiday spirit! Plus later tonight the humans are making pumpkin spice cookies (from the US!).

“Wait a minute, these aren’t pumpkins!” -Ducky “Nope, but they are gourds.” -Pembleton “What’s a gourd?” -Ducky
*Sorry we haven’t been blogging like we would like. We enjoy Ducky Adventures so much! But this past year has been very difficult (with cancer on both sides of the family and the passing of Laura’s mom). While we’ve been dealing with a lot, it’s time to start up the Ducky blog again. Thanks to everyone for being patient and spread the word- Ducky and the gang are back!
The class gathered around the table to celebrate Thanksgiving. Before they dug in to their delicious meal, they each said what they were thankful for.
Ducky and Ted were thankful for friendship and pie.
Pembleton and Blizzard were thankful for learning and family.
The lambs were thankful for time off of school and polka music.
While Mrs. Cottontail was thankful for her health and good students.
After eating way to much and enjoying many laughs, Ducky and friends were ready for a nap.
We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving Celebration: Part 1
This weekend, Ducky, Pembleton, Ted, and Blizzard flew up to Vermont to enjoy the last days of the fall berries. Pembleton came up with the idea to pick some blueberries and bring them home so that the Lambs could make a blueberry pie.
When they got to Vermont, they met some of the local animals and asked them where they could find the best blueberry patch. A porcupine told them about a human farm, but Pembleton said they would have to pay the farmer, and Ducky didn’t have any money. Plus, they prefer wild blueberries because they are sweeter. Then they met a black bear cub who told them about a patch of never ending blueberry bushes in a field between two small mountains. After several hours of hiking, they finally reached the BEST BLUEBERRY PATCH IN THE WORLD!
Somehow only Pembleton managed to collect blueberries for the pie, while Ducky and the Lil’ Guys got a belly ache from eating so many blueberries. Blizzard was practically all purple from blueberry juice. They had a great day.

The other day, Ted and Blizzard were sitting out in the yard passing a ball back and forth. While they were playing Ted said to Blizzard, “My dad is the best bear in the world!” Blizzard thought about this for a second and then said, “that isn’t possible, because my dad is the best bear in the world!”
Who do you think is the best bear?

Saturday was the first day of fall. Now that things have slowed down and no animals need rescuing, Ducky, Pembleton, and the lil’ guys celebrated by snuggling up in a blanket to watch Charlotte’s Web and drinking spiced apple cider in their special mugs.
