Fall is a beautiful time of year.  The leaves change colors and fall. The apples are ripe for the picking. The air becomes crisp. It is the start of the new school year and other new beginnings. Ducky and the gang love fall. They enjoy playing in the leaves, apple picking, and most of all Halloween. Every year, they go to a local pumpkin patch and pick the perfect pumpkin for carving. Unfortunately, in Israel we don’t know where a pumpkin patch is, and the local stores do not have traditional American style pumpkins. Then today at the grocery stores, we saw the cutest little acorn squash! They are perfect for DtPb, and helped get them get into the holiday spirit! Plus later tonight the humans are making pumpkin spice cookies (from the US!).

Happy Fall!

“Wait a minute, these aren’t pumpkins!” -Ducky “Nope, but they are gourds.” -Pembleton “What’s a gourd?” -Ducky

*Sorry we haven’t been blogging like we would like. We enjoy Ducky Adventures so much! But this past year has been very difficult (with cancer on both sides of the family and the passing of Laura’s mom). While we’ve been dealing with a lot, it’s time to start up the Ducky blog again. Thanks to everyone for being patient and spread the word- Ducky and the gang are back!

The class gathered around the table to celebrate Thanksgiving. Before they dug in to their delicious meal, they each said what they were thankful for.

Ducky and Ted were thankful for friendship and pie.

Pembleton and Blizzard were thankful for learning and family.

The lambs were thankful for time off of school and polka music.

While Mrs. Cottontail was thankful for her health and good students.

After eating way to much and enjoying many laughs, Ducky and friends were ready for a nap.

We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

While cleaning their room and going through their old toys, Ducky and Pembleton discovered their old kite. Ted and Blizzard asked “What is that?”

Ducky and Pembleton couldn’t believe they had never seen a kite. Instead of explaining Pembleton said “Let’s go to the park, right now and we will show you.” Ducky was so excited, he could barely stand it.

Once they got to the park, Pembleton quickly assembled the kite and Ducky helped to launch it in to the air.  In just a few seconds, the kite was high in the sky. Ted and Blizzard were amazed at how high the kite could go. Pembleton even did a few tricks.

Now Ted and Blizzard want their own kite, but not as big as Pembleton’s kite.

Higher! Higher!

After school Pembleton noticed the leaves in the yard were getting out of control. He asked Ducky if he would help with the yard. Ducky happily agreed. Pembleton got the rakes out and started doing yard work. He hoped to get it all done, so they could go to a festival on Saturday.

He raked and raked, making a huge pile of leaves, but Ducky was no where in sight. He went inside to warm up for a minute. When he came back out, he found Ducky, Ted, and Blizzard playing in the huge pile of leaves he just raked. After a few seconds of being annoyed, he decided to jump in as well. Then when they were all done playing, they all pitched in and finished the yard in a few minutes.

We hope you all have a great weekend!

Ducky, Pembleton and the rest of the gang are excited to introduce Boo, The Jack-O-Lantern! They worked hard to carve him and are excited to share Boo with all the trick or treaters tomorrow!

After a couple of incidents that Ducky doesn’t want to talk about, Ducky needed his own vehicle in order to get around. He went to his piggy bank and counted all his human money- $7.28. He then went to his turtle bank and counted all his animal money- 15 lime jelly beans and a linty licorice stick. Ducky was so proud of his savings and knew he would be able to get the perfect vehicle.

After collecting his money, he hopped on the city bus and headed for the Ferrari dealer. After being laughed at, he headed to the other local dealerships. No one wanted to sell him a sweet ride.

Feeling defeated, Ducky remembered his friend and local mechanic, Bio-Diesel Weasel, also sold used cars.  He headed over to Bio-Diesel Weasel’s shop right away. Once he laid eyes on an old timey car, he was hooked.

Ducky made Bio-Diesel Weasel an offer, he couldn’t refuse. He loved lime jelly beans. Plus he owed Ducky a favor, for rescuing his cousin from a cat. Later he threw out the linty licorice stick.

Ducky was now the proud owner of “Ducky Ducky Bang Bang” the loudest and oldest bucket of bolts on the block.  With the help of Mr. Lamb, Ducky was ready to hit the streets at a whopping 10 miles per hour.

One day at recess. Ducky and Ted were playing with soap bubbles. Ducky had a giant blue wand that he was using to make large bubbles. Ted was running around and popping the bubbles. Each new bubble got bigger and bigger, as Ducky perfected his bubble making.  One bubble was so big and so strong that when Ted went to pop it, he fell into the bubble and started to float away.

Ducky was horrified. He shouted for help. Pembleton saw what was happening and rushed to get his special plunger, he often uses to get cats out of trees. He aimed; he fired, and thankfully rescued Ted.

From now on, Ducky won’t blow bubbles, or at least not till he figures out a safer way when Ted is around.

Do you have any ideas on how to keep Ted safe, while blowing big bubbles?

Help Ducky, by leaving your ideas in the comment section below!

This weekend, Ducky, Pembleton, Ted, and Blizzard flew up to Vermont to enjoy the last days of the fall berries. Pembleton came up with the idea to pick some blueberries and bring them home so that the Lambs could make a blueberry pie.

When they got to Vermont, they met some of the local animals and asked them where they could find the best blueberry patch. A porcupine told them about a human farm, but Pembleton said they would have to pay the farmer, and Ducky didn’t have any money. Plus, they prefer wild blueberries because they are sweeter. Then they met a black bear cub who told them about a patch of never ending blueberry bushes in a field between two small mountains. After several hours of hiking, they finally reached the BEST BLUEBERRY PATCH IN THE WORLD!

Somehow only Pembleton managed to collect blueberries for the pie, while Ducky and the Lil’ Guys got a belly ache from eating so many blueberries. Blizzard was practically all purple from blueberry juice. They had a great day.

“Ducky! The blueberries are for the pie not your belly!”, said Pembleton.

The other day, Ted and Blizzard were sitting out in the yard passing a ball back and forth. While they were playing Ted said to Blizzard, “My dad is the best bear in the world!” Blizzard thought about this for a second and then said, “that isn’t possible, because my dad is the best bear in the world!”

Who do you think is the best bear?

“My dad”…”No, My dad”

Saturday was the first day of fall. Now that things have slowed down and no animals need rescuing, Ducky, Pembleton, and the lil’ guys celebrated by snuggling up in a blanket to watch Charlotte’s Web and drinking spiced apple cider in their special mugs.

Mmmm… Spiced apple cider….
