To celebrate the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta, Pembleton introduced Ducky, Ted, and Blizzard to his old friend Mr. Peabody.

“Who is Mr. Peabody and why are you so excited for us to meet him?”, Ducky asked.

“Just wait. You’ll see”, Pembleton replied.

When they arrived, Mr. Peabody talked on and on about something he called a “wayback machine”. They all got inside the machine, and to Ducky’s surprise, they were suddenly transported back in time to 1215 in medieval England!

There were a bunch a funny looking men, all standing around a fancy piece of paper. Pembleton started geeking out, and Mr. Peabody explained that this historical document meant that the King or Queen of England had to follow their own laws. In essence, the Magna Carta established that no man, or animal is above the law.

After the signing of the document. Thy all got back in to the “wayback machine” and were instantly back in the year 2015. Ducky was really happy to be back home, because he was really hungry and it was snack time.

Ducky and the Gang are moving to Jolly O’ England after two years living in Israel! They are excited about their new adventures! Pembleton wants to visit the British Museum first, while Ducky wants to visit the Tower of London. Blizzard and Ted don’t have a preference as long as they get their sticky toffee pudding for dessert! However, they are a little nervous about making new friends at their new home.

The Great Tedzini put on his first show this weekend, to a packed house in our living room. Ted and Blizzard had been practicing in secret for days after getting a magic book from the local library. So when Pembleton witnessed Ted saw Blizzard in HALF he was HORRIFIED! But Ted and Blizzard just laughed, because they knew it was just an illusion.

Part 1.

Dr. Ducky and the little guys sat in Pembleton’s study listening to him play his violin. Due to the beautiful music Pembleton was playing, no one heard the knocks on the door.

Out of no where, a little sloth named Abigail, appeared in the study crying.

“What’s wrong Abigail?” Ducky asked, but there were only mumbles and sniffles. Ted and Blizzard got her a tissue and gave her a hug. Once she calmed down, she told them the horrible news.

“Someone took my papa. When my papa didn’t pick me up from school, I went to his workshop and he was gone! The workshop was wrecked! And I… and I…I don’t know to do!” she wailed.

“Don’t worry Abigail. I am on the case!” shouted Pembleton. “Now I need you to retell me what happen, with as much detail as possible.”  She retold him everything, even describing her father’s workshop. He was working on a new robot and it was missing too. She also remembered that the place smelled a little fishy, and she couldn’t stop sneezing.

Pembleton put his wing to his chin and puzzled for a moment. Then he said “Aha! I have an idea about who took your father, but first I need more information. Take me to his workshop.”

“How can you get anything out of those details, Pembleton?!?” Ducky asked.

Pembleton replied, “It’s elementary my dear Ducky.”

Yesterday morning Ducky went on a walk. As he walked by the local Jewish community center, he saw a group of humans standing around a bonfire. He was curious so he waddled over to see what was going on. As he peeked through the crowd, he was shocked by what he saw! They were burning bread and crackers! “WHY?” Ducky thought. Then Ducky noticed a wise old owl near by. He walked over and asked what was going on.

The owl replied “It’s the burning of the Chametz.”

“What is that?” Ducky asked even more confused.

“During Pesach, or Passover as you know it, the Jewish people burn anything leaven and do not eat bread or other leaven foods for a whole week in remembrance of their escape from Egypt.” said the owl.

“What? No bread? No pita? Not cake? No cookies? No nothing?” Ducky asked. “When does this start?”

“Tonight.”

Before the owl could say “Chag Sameach (Happy Holiday)”, Ducky ran past the bonfire, grabbed a bag of pita and headed home. He had some eating to do before Pesach started!

Their boat was stuck in a sandbar and Pembleton felt like something fishy was going on because every attempt to radio for help was being jammed. The only thing they could do is take their life raft to the nearby island and search for help.

Once Ducky, Pembleton, Ted, and Blizzard made it to shore, they decided to explore the island. But Ducky insisted that they all stick together and Pembleton reminded them to walk quietly.

It didn’t take long for them to discover what was going on. Ducky and Pembleton heard rough voices through the dense jungle foliage. They carefully peeked through the bushes only to find CAT PIRATES!

“That explains it”, said Pembleton. “The pirates must be jamming our radio and they probably put that sandbar near the island to trap boats like ours.”

Ducky said, “Why does it have to be CATS? I hate CATS!”

“Except for kittens”, Ted reminded him.

As they listened to the cat pirates, they found out that their leader, Captain One Mitten, was aware of their boat. He had sent his first mate to check on the boat, but he returned saying that no one was on the ship and there was no treasure – only a few sandwiches. Both pirates agreed that they were hungry and went down to the boat to eat Ducky, Pembleton, and the little guys’ sandwiches.

Meanwhile, Ducky said, “Now’s our chance to find out what they are doing here.” Pembleton added, “Maybe we can disable their radio jammer.”

Pembleton, the Captain of the USS DtPb, searched his maps high and low for the best island or beach to have a picnic on. He was very careful to check his nautical maps and equipment to make sure he was sailing the proper channels.

However, he was SHOCKED when they pulled into what he thought was a safe bay, but turned out to have a hidden sandbar that was not on his maps! Their ship was stuck in the sand, just below the waterline. He tried to reverse the engine, but it was no use! In fact the engine started smoking!

Pembleton tried to call for help using his radio, but the signal was jammed. The only thing left to do was to take their life raft to shore and try to find help or at least eat their lunch.

Part 2 Water Skiing on Ducky’s Mediterranean Cruise

Ducky and the gang recently went on a Mediterranean Cruise off the coast of Haifa, Israel. They took Pembleton’s new boat, the “USS DtPb,” for a short cruise around Haifa bay.

There was a slight breeze and the sun kept them nice and warm. The weather was perfect for a day out at sea.

Ted and Blizzard had heard that a pod of dolphins often liked to play nearby. They hoped they would be able to see them and maybe even see them do a trick or two.

Ducky was excited, when Pembleton told him the water would be calm today, with the occasional wave. It was perfect for some tubing or water skiing. Shortly after leaving the harbor, Ducky asked, “Is it time to get out my water skis?”

After many nights of studying the stars, Pembleton made an exciting discovery! He discovered a new exo-planet. Pembleton called his friend, Edgar the Elephant to help verify his discovery. Once it was verified, Pembleton decided to reveal his discovery at the Technion Astronomical Society Workshop. He invited Ducky, Ted and Blizzard, along with his friend Edgar the Elephant.

During the lecture Pembleton explained that he was looking for exo-planets by finding shadows that cross in front of bright stars. Pembleton recorded pictures from his Newtonian telescope on to his computer, so that the finding could be verified by other scientist and also for his super cool presentation.

Pembleton’s lecture was a huge hit at the workshop. Now all he has to do is decide on a name for the planet. Maybe it will be… Pembletron… Blizzardonious… Tedzoni… or Duckytopia…What do you think? Leave a comment!

Part 3 Stargazing

Shortly after sunset, Ducky, Ted, and Blizzard ran to the the library to ask Pembleton if it was time to use the telescope. After looking at the clock on the wall, Pembleton said it was time.

They went on the patio and carefully set up the telescope.

First Pembleton used the view finder to locate the north star. Once the telescope was in position, he adjusted the focus so that the view was crystal clear. “Who wants to go first?” Pembleton asked.

“Me! Me!” shouted Blizzard. But Blizzard was to short to reach the eye piece. Ducky had to retrieve a stool from the mudroom. Then Ducky lifted him up on to the stool and Blizzard was able to see.

“WOW! There are so many stars! They are HUGE! It’s unbelievable.” Blizzard shouted with excitement.

“My turn! My turn!” Ted yelled as he jumped up and down.

They each took turns as Pembleton explained the different constellations and planets.

As they were winding down, Pembleton explained “Some scientist believe that most stars have their own planets, much like the Sun, but they are hard to see because they do not produce enough light like stars do. This is what I want to study.”

Part 1 A Mystery Package

Part 2 What’s in the Package?

Earlier today a package arrived at our front door. Ducky was so excited to see such a large package waiting at our door. He knew it had to be for him. Over the past couple of weeks he has been hinting that he would like a “Rock’em Sock’em Robot” set.  As he jumped up and down in excitement, Ted and Blizzard tried to read the name on the package. It was  a long word that started with a “P”.

“Ducky, what long word starts with a ‘P’?” Ted asked.

“I know!” Said Blizzard. “Doesn’t Pembleton’s name start with a ‘P’?”

“WHAT?!?!” Ducky yelled. “This package isn’t for me?”

Ducky was a little sad. He was really hoping it would be a new toy for him.

Shortly after hearing the commotion. Pembleton came out of the family library and asked what was going on.

“You have a package.” Ted and Blizzard exclaimed in unison.

“What?! It’s not for ME?!”

Even though Ducky has been having lots of fun and trying lots of new things, he has been having a hard time since moving to Israel. He hasn’t made many new friends yet. So it was really hard for him today, because today is Ducky’s birthday.

All day Ducky kept telling Pembleton about how he wished his friends were here to celebrate his birthday and that his birthday just wouldn’t be the same without his friends. Ducky was so sad to think that no one here even knew it was his birthday.

Just when Ducky thought he was going to cry, Pembleton told Ducky that he needed him to go down to the bakery to pick up some bread for dinner. When Ducky stepped inside the bakery, a group of familiar faces shouted, “SURPRISE!”. It was Ducky’s friends. Amanda Panda, Penelope Penguin, Edgar Elephant, and even the Lambs were there. Ted and Blizzard sang and danced. There were presents, a giant orange cake, and a sign that said “Happy Birthday Ducky”.

Ducky’s got to wear his sheriffs outfit and everyone sang him Happy Birthday. It was Ducky’s best birthday ever.

SURPISE!

SURPRISE!

Did you know you can ski in Israel? When Pembleton found out Mt. Hermon had snow and a ski resort, he couldn’t wait to take Ted and Blizzard on their first skiing adventure. Who would have known it would be in Israel?

Even though it was Ted and Blizzard’s first time skiing, they caught on very quickly. Pembleton instructed them on some basic techniques: to go forward keep your skis straight like french fries, to slow down and stop wedge your skis like a slice of pizza and to turn move your hips slightly in the direction you want to go. By the end of the end of the day, the little guys had skiing the bunny slope mastered. Ducky on the other hand, had some problems.

Ducky has been enjoying the food in Israel. He has been trying new things every day, but Pembleton has been a little less adventurous. Today, Pembleton bumped into Ducky during lunchtime. Ducky was holding a huge stuff sandwich with little balls, cabbage, tomatoes, and onions inside.

“What’s that Ducky? It looks tasty.”

“Yumm, Yumm, It’s falafel! Do you want some?”

“Umm, I don’t know, what’s falafel?”

“Fried goodness. It’s made of chickpeas that are mashed, seasoned and fried. Then it is stuffed into a yummy pita with hummas and veggies.”

“What’s hummas?”

“Stop asking questions, just eat!” Ducky shouted as he passed Pembleton his enormous sandwich.

After taking a small bite, Pembleton, took another, and another. “Wow, that’s pretty tasty. I like it.”

“Good, now get your own!”

Eating Falafel

“Ducky, what’s that? It looks tasty.”

Ducky and Pembleton have been very busy lately. After staying in New York for almost one month, it was time for them to complete the final stage of their move.

They packed up their clothes and toys into Pembleton’s plane and headed east. They flew over the Atlantic Ocean, the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum of Rome, Athens, and finally to Haifa, Israel.

It was a long trip. When they arrived, Ducky and Ted went to get some felafel for lunch, while Pembleton and Blizzard decided to have a salad with cucumbers and tomato.

So far, Ducky and the gang are enjoying their new home. The weather is nice and the food is great, but they are looking forward to meeting new friends and having many more exciting adventures.

(Sorry for the lack of posting, we are trying to be better! 2013 has been crazy so far. We should be settled in about a week!)

Shalom! We made it!

Shalom! We made it!

Ducky and Pembleton took Ted and Blizzard to visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. When Ted asked Ducky why we celebrate Dr. King’s Birthday, Ducky explained that Dr. King was the first man with X-ray vision and that he had super strength.

Then Pembleton butted in and explained how Ducky was all wrong. “Actually”, Pembleton said, “Dr. King fought inequality with peaceful protests, and taught us to treat each other equally.”

Then Ducky asked if he had to treat the Lambs equally, and Pembleton said, “Yes, even the Lambs.”

"I have a Dream too!"

“I have a Dream too!”

Today Pembleton had to make a tough decision. He went into the kitchen for a cookie and found that there was only one left. He held the cookie in his wings and thought about whether he should eat it by himself or share it with Ducky.

Suddenly a chubby angel and a chubby devil appeared on his shoulders. The devil said, “Quick, Eat the cookie before anyone sees you!”, but the angel said, “No! Share the cookie with Ducky. Wouldn’t he do the same for you?” The devil said, “No he wouldn’t!”.

Pembleton looked at the angel, then the devil, and then back at the cookie. Then he went and shared the cookie with Ted and Blizzard.

"To share or not to share, that is the question!"

“To share or not to share, that is the question!”

Ducky and Pembleton were called in to rescue a rat that had gotten stuck in the wall after feasting on too many holiday goodies. When Ducky and Pembleton got to the house they found two legs and a rat tail sticking out of the wall.

Ducky went and got the butter to lubricate the rat. Several sticks of butter later, they managed to pull the rat out of the hole by his tail. They all agreed that the rat needed to find a home with a larger front door, so Ducky arranged for the rat to stay with a family of Opossums until he could find a new place.

"Butter makes it better!

“Butter makes it better!

Last night Ducky and Pembleton saw a light in the forest. They were worried that it might be a forest fire so they decided to investigate. When they got a little closer they found that the light was actually a campfire and at that camp fire sat an old tortoise with a large gold medal around his neck.

Ducky said to the tortoise, “I’m Ducky and this is my brother Pembleton. Who are you and what are you doing camping out here by yourself?”

The tortoise replied, “I’m Lionheart, the bravest tortoise in the world, and I’ve come here seeking adventure. Have I ever told you about the time that I saved three possums from being eaten by a ferocious feline?”

Ducky and Pembleton thought it was strange that the Lionheart started telling them a story like they were old friends, but the story was exciting and full of danger, so they quietly listened both wondering where Lionheart had earned his medal. At the end of Lionheart’s story, Ted and Blizzard showed up wondering what was taking so long. Ducky introduced them to Lionheart, and Ted asked Lionheart the question that was on everyone’s mind, “Where did you get that medal?”

Lionheart leaned closer and squinted one eye, “Now that is a really interesting story. I received this medal for saving a queen bee from a clan of evil wasps while traveling through the Australian outback.” Everyone listened as the tale unfolded. It was a thrilling tail of mystery and danger and it ended with Lionheart receiving a gold metal from the worker bees for saving their beloved queen.

When the story was over, the first rays of morning light were peaking behind the bushes, and Pembleton said that it was time for everyone to get to bed. Ducky, Pembleton, Ted, and Blizzard reluctantly headed back to the house, while Lionheart stayed behind to sleep near his campfire. Their dreams were filled with swashbuckling and adventure.

They may have been faster than me, but I was smarter than them.

“They may have been faster than me, but I was smarter than them.” Said Lionheart.

Basketball is Pembleton’s favorite sport. So Pembleton was super excited when Mrs. Cottontail told her class about the annual basketball fundraiser. Both Ducky and Pembleton signed up to play, and the whole animal community showed up to the game.

Ted and Blizzard cheered from the sidelines and Amanda Panda kept yelling for Ducky to slam dunk the ball. During the game Pembleton scored one basket. Ducky had a little trouble aiming the ball and never managed to score. When the buzzer sounded Ducky tossed the ball into the air over the basket and into the audience. The crowd cheered! They rushed down to the court and carried both Ducky and Pembleton out of the gymnasium on their shoulders.

The fundraiser earned lots of money for the local humane society, and Mrs. Cottontail said she was proud of them for playing so well.

Over the holidays we have been very busy! Ducky and the gang have seen parts of the United States they have only read about or seen on T.V. It has been a very exciting adventure for them. After spending some time in Florida, they traveled up the east coast visiting Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. They spent their New Years celebrating in our nations capitol Washington DC!

Ducky and the gang would like to wish everyone HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2012 was a totally wicked year,

but 2013 is going to be even more AWESOME!

Yesterday Ducky, Pembleton, and the Little guys had their first visit to Disney World! They had so much fun. First they went to the Magic Kingdom where they went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the Jungle River Trek, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, the Tea Cup ride and so much more. Their favorite part was the Christmas Parade! The floats even smelled like Christmas!

They also went all around the world in Epcot; enjoying sights and sounds from China, Morocco, Norway, and so many others. They even got to stop by Animal Kingdom to see the Tree of Life and ride Expedition  Everest. Then they finished at the Magic Kingdom where they saw Celebrate the Season, Celebrate the Magic, the Electric Street Parade and finally their night ended with fireworks!

One more day til Christmas!

*More pictures to come… unfortunately the internet at the hotel is S-L-O-W!

Ducky, Pembleton, Ted and Blizzard had their first snow day of the school year yesterday. They were so excited. They had just seen Frosty the Snowman on T.V.  Even though they do not have a magic hat, they still wanted to make a new winter friend.

Pembleton made the base, Ducky made the middle, and the little guys tried to make the head, but they needed a little help. Pembleton got a latter and placed the head on top. Ted added the eyes, Blizzard added a smile, Pembleton added the nose, while Ducky added the arms.

After the snowman was complete, Ducky thought it would be fun to have a SNOWBALL FIGHT! He scooped up a ball of snow and hurled it at Pembleton. It was a direct hit.  Pembleton at first was shocked and then he laughed. He is the fastest snowball maker in town and within seconds he was ready for his attack.  Their winter wonderland was transformed into a snowy battle.

Afterwards, they came inside to warm up by the fire and have some hot cocoa.

7 Days til Christmas!

Ready, Aim, Fire, SPLAT!

Ready, Aim, Fire, SPLAT!

At school, Ducky and the gang were busy decorating their Gingerbread Men Cookies! Penelope the Penguin worked very quickly making a pink skirt and using pink gumdrops for the eyes and buttons. Amanda Panda used purple gumdrops and icing for her cookie. She wanted to kept telling Ducky, Pembleton, and Penelope that her gingerbread woman was a fashion model.

Ducky’s gingerbread man turned out a little crazy. More frosting made it onto the table and into Ducky’s mouth than on his actual cookie. Mrs. Cottontail had to come over and warn Ducky to stop squirting the icing into his mouth. Pembleton took the longest time, because he was planning the perfect decorations. In fact, he only started laying down the first lines of icing after all the other kids were almost done.

When they were done decorating, Mrs. Cottontail passed out paper cups with milk and they ate their cookies, except for Pembleton, who ate his cookie five minutes after everyone else because he was still finishing his cookie decorations.

19 more days til Christmas!

“Ducky! Try to keep the icing on the cookie.”

Ducky writes to santa.

Dear Santa, I promise I’ve been good this year.

Last night Ducky needed some peace and quiet, while he worked on his letter to Santa. First he tried working at the kitchen table, but the Lambs were busy making sugar cookies. Then he tried working at the coffee table, but Pembleton was watching a NOVA special on Mars. Finally he went to Pembleton’s office and locked the door, so he could fully concentrate on his letter to Santa. He wanted to make sure it was perfect and most importantly that he didn’t forget anything. He would cry if he forgot to list a whoopee cushion, tickets to Disney World, or a new horn for Ducky Ducky Bang Bang. After several hours, his letter and list were finally complete. Now all he needs is an envelope big enough to fit his letter.

20 more days til Christmas.
