Once Ducky and Pembleton weathered the storms, it was smooth sailing.

“So what’s the plan?” Ducky asked. “Are we just going to fly in to the Himalayas, do the rescue and be back by snack time? Ted said they are making cookies with Mrs. Cottontail.”

“No, Ducky. Unfortunately we won’t be making it back for snack time. There is no suitable landing strip in the Himalayas, so we will be landing about 50 miles south of the mountains. From there, we can take a train.”

“A train? I love trains. Will there be a snack car?” Ducky said all excited.

“I just hope we make it in time,” Pembleton hesitated, “There is only one train per week and it leaves this afternoon.”

5 minutes before departure…

“I got the tickets,” Pembleton said nervously. “But I don’t know which track. We need to hurry, but all the signs are in an animal language I don’t know.”

“Hey, Pembleton? Is that, who I think it is?” Ducky asked.

“Who? Where?” Pembleton asked. “EDGAR! What are you doing here?”

Edgar the Elephant and member of the Pooh Bear Society, replied, “I’m visiting my family. They run the local trains, and I’m helping out.”

“Great! We are on an adventure and our train is about to leave any minute. Can you direct us to the right train?” Ducky asked.

“You are in luck. It’s right behind you and I’m about to give it the go ahead. Hurry up and find your seats. And good luck on your adventure.” Edgar said.

“Thank you!” Ducky said, as he dragged his luggage in to the train car. “Boy does our luggage feel oddly heavy.”

Ducky and Pembleton packed their gear, then dropped the lil’ guys off at Mrs. Cottontail’s cottage, before heading to the airfield. Things were running smoothly until a patch of dark clouds appeared on the horizon as they were over the Horn of Africa and entering the Indian Ocean.

Before they knew it, the plane was surrounded by rain, thunder, and lightning. Visibility was down to 100 meters. Pembleton turned to Ducky and said, “Thank goodness for the planes top notch altimeter and GPS systems,” but just as he tapped on the plane’s compass, all of the instruments went haywire. Both Ducky and Pembleton were scared. “Without my instruments, we don’t even know which way is up. What are we going to do?”

Just when they thought all hope was lost, Ducky saw something strange. He tapped Pembleton on the shoulder and yelled over the hum of the plane’s engine, “Follow that elephant.”

Confused, Pembleton yelled back to Ducky, “What are you talking about? We’re almost a mile above an ocean. There can’t possibly be an elephant here!”

“Over there! Over there! Look at that cloud! It’s an elephant and he’s pointing the way!”

“You’re right! It is!” Pembleton turned the plane to follow the elephant and within a matter of minutes they were leaving the thunder storm behind. They waved goodbye as they passed their fluffy elephant buddy and headed off into clear blue skies.

“I can’t believe Professor Plumbottom blocked my request to fund this rescue operation!” Pembleton shouted across Lionheart’s large oak desk in the Animal Adventurers Society presidential office. Ducky just sat quietly in a plump chair munching on some delicious cookies.

Lionheart, a wise old tortoise and president of the AAS, stroked his long white beard quietly waiting for Pembleton to calm down. Once Pembleton was between breaths, Lionheart quickly interrupted, “How about having a homemade cookie? They’ll help cool you down.”, and he shoved a cookie in Pembleton’s mouth before he could object. Then Lionheart explained, “If it were up to me, you know I would approve this operation, but I simply don’t have the authority to overrule our senior members. I’m sorry, but my hands are tied.”

“It’s not about the money. I’ll fund the entire expedition myself if I have too. I’m just disappointed that the AAS would turn its back on animals in need.” Pembleton explained, a little more calm after munching another cookie. Then he turned to Ducky and said, “Let’s get going. We have a long way to go.”

“One more thing,” Lionheart said as they were in the doorway.

“What is it?” Pembleton asked.

“Good luck and be careful.”

Ducky and Pembleton called for an emergency meeting of the Animal Adventurer’s Society. Something had happened over the Himalayan mountains and some animals needed their help. Members of the society hung on every word as Pembleton briefed them on the dire situation.

“I know we don’t have a lot of details, but we have to help them,” Pembleton concluded.

From the balcony Professor Plumbottom Mole shouted, “We are adventures, not rescuers. This is outside of our jurisdiction. It is foolish for us to waste our resources on something we know so little about.”

“I understand your concern Professor Plumbottom, but as stated in our constitution: ‘Members of AAS will not turn their backs on an animal in need.’ Furthermore, Ducky and I volunteer to lead this venture.”

“As a senior member of this organization, I vote NAY regarding this adventure. Who seconds me?”

Late at night was Pembleton monitoring the air waves with his ham radio, but all he heard was the soft crackle of static and the munching of cookies. Suddenly a voice broke through the noise. “Mayday! Mayday! Help! We’re going down!”

“What is the problem? What is your current position?” Pembleton shouted into the microphone. Then he heard some rustling of nobs and buttons, “We are losing altitude too quickly. Our rudders aren’t responding to controls, and our GPS is all wonky, but we should be just south of the Himalayas.” Then there was some more rustling and a faint “Wow, this place does exist,” before a loud CRASH!!!

“Wait! Are you still there? Is everything alright?” But there was nothing. Pembleton quickly stood up and told Ducky, who was hiding behind the chair, “We have to alert the Animal Adventurer’s Society immediately.”

Ducky and the gang are about to go on a new multipart adventure into the unforgiving Himalayan mountains. On this adventure, they will face danger at every turn, overcome impossible odds, meet new friends, and discover the secrets of a lost civilization. Stay tuned for the first part of this exciting adventure.

Our next adventure!

Today after school, Ducky and the gang could not escape a really stinky smell. “Gross! What is that smell?” Pembleton asked. Ted and Blizzard started sniffing around and both concluded, “It’s DUCKY!”

Apparently, on bath nights, he has been playing in the bath tub and not actually washing! He also had a slice of Limburger cheese in his pocket! “GROSS!” So tonight, with some extra supervision, Ducky got a double washing and an extra fluffing during bath time.

Tip #6: A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned.

For Christmas, Ducky got a new piggy bank. He has been trying his hardest to save his money. However, this is a tough tip for Ducky to follow, because there is a corner store near our home that sales penny candy! He just loves penny candy, but he is resisting and so far he has saved $0.42! That is the most money Ducky has ever saved! His goal is $10 so we can buy a Star Wars Lego set to put on his Lemonade stand. He thinks it will help attract customers.

Sorry we have not been updating like we should! MAJOR FAIL on our parts.

Timothy- the brilliant illustrator of Ducky Adventures- has been very busy lately. He has a major deadline for work. Thankfully the deadline is soon! Hopefully we will be posting more regularly starting next week! Until then, enjoy these sketches Timothy left at the Montreal Bio-Dome chalk board back in November!

This week, a hip new bakery opened up in the mall and Ducky was the first in line. He has been checking up on all of his favorite food blogs, and Frosted is one of the top talked about places for 2014. After looking for more than 10 minutes, and agonizing over which treat to choose, Ducky finally made a decision. He headed over to the cash register and was shocked to see Amanda Panda. “What are you doing here?” he demanded.

“Silly, this is my bakery. Well my mom’s, but I get to help. What are you doing here?” She asked.

“We are here as official judges to see if your little bakery is as good as the blogs say.” Ducky replied. “We would like three large cup cakes. One for each of us. Ted wants chocolate, Blizzard wants chocolate orange, and I would like mint chocolate chip.”

She glared at them, then placed the cup cakes in a fancy box and started tying a fancy bow.

“Just give it to us already,” Ducky shouted, “Ain’t nobody got time for all that fuss. We are ready to eat!”

“Hhmph!” Amanda Panda huffed, “This is a five star bakery! Not a cafeteria! You boys just ruin everything!”

“We’ll be the judge of that.” Ducky said giving her the stink eye. “I’m sure these cup cakes will taste like dirt, if Amanda Panda made them.”

“Go on try it I dare you!” Amanda Panda snapped.

“Wow! These are awesome.” Ted said. “This is the best cup cake ever!” Blizzard replied.

“Now, now. Don’t just say that to be nice. We are judges and we need to be fair.” Ducky says. Then he took one bite. Then another, and another and another until the whole thing was gone.

“So…” Amanda asked.

“I guess they were okay. Not the best, but okay.” Ducky said slyly. “Can I get two dozen to go?”

So many wonderful treats to choose from...

To celebrate the new year, Ducky and his friends partied until the ball dropped!

Yesterday, Ducky and the gang made a batch of practice cookies for the big guy next week. Afterwards, Ducky suggested they also practice placing the cookies out on the table. Pembleton thought this was strange, but went along with Ducky’s idea anyways.

Later that night, Pembleton and the little guys heard a strange noise coming from the living room. “Ducky do you hear that?” Pembleton asked. But Ducky was no where to be found. “Ted, Blizzard, let’s go investigate!” Pembleton suggested. They quietly crept in to the living room, where they thought they saw Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick munching on the cookies, but when looking closer, it was just a Jolly Ol’ Ducky.

“HOW COULD YOU DUCKY!” Ted cried. “Those were for Santa.”

“Umm…” Ducky mumbled. “I’m not Ducky,” he replied in a deep voice, “I’m Santa’s cousin, Bob. I help with the cookies.”

“You know lying will get you put on the naughty list!” said Blizzard.

“Fine! It’s me, Ducky. But I didn’t want these cookies to go to waste and by next week they will be hard as a rock!”

“Why don’t we eat the cookies together?” Pembleton suggested.

“Great idea!” Ted and Blizzard cheered as they joined Ducky around the cookie plate.

Earlier today Pembleton received a special Christmas package. One so special, there were instructions to open it right away. Ted and Blizzard were so excited, they couldn’t wait for Pembleton to open! “Open it! Open it!” They shouted.

“I don’t know, should I wait for Ducky?” Pembleton asked. He heard a muffled giggle but dismissed it.

“No, you should open it now.” Ted said as he covered his mouth, holding in a laugh.

“Okay. I will.” Pembleton slowly started to open the package- when suddenly it BURST OPEN!

“Surprise!” Ducky shouted as he popped out of the box!

“Not funny,” Pembleton pouted. “You were definitely not on my Christmas wish list!”

MERRY CHRISTMAS PEMBLETON!!

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, it is Ducky and the Gang’s favorite time of year! One of their favorite Christmas traditions is caroling, so today the gang decided to stroll around the park singing cheery songs to celebrate the season.

A Ducky Thanksgiving Story (2012)

Morning of the Thanksgiving Celebration

Wake up! Wake up!

Thanksgiving morning, Pembleton and Blizzard got up early and woke up Ducky and Ted (who were still snoozing at 8:30am).

Ducky and Friends dressed up for Thanksgiving

Cool Costumes!

After Ducky and Ted got their costumes on, it was time for them to head to school.

“To give thanks.”

At school they learned about Thanksgiving and why they celebrate it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Finally, they celebrated the holiday with a big feast and plenty of pie.

Ducky and the gang wish you a wonderful and happy thanksgiving. They also wanted everyone to know how thankful they are for all of their great fans.

Ducky and the gang have really enjoyed their time in Montreal and at McGill University. When walking around campus, they discovered the campus was right next to Mt. Royal Park. So the gang decided to hike up Mt. Royal just in time for the sun to go down and the city lights to turn on.

When at the top, Ducky said, “What a magnificent sight.”

Pembelton replied, “Quel spectacle magnifique d’.”

Ducky just laughed. Why is Pembleton so strange? He wondered.

Quel spectacle magnifique d'.

Quel spectacle magnifique d’.

Over the weekend Ducky and the gang went to their first ever hockey game! They had so much fun watching the Zamboni circle the rink, they forgot that there was even a game. Then the McGill Redmen took to the ice against the Guelph Gryphons. The game was a nail biter as the puck went back and forth, back and forth. But in the end, the Redmen prevailed 3-2, and Ducky got to keep the winning puck. After the Zamboni cleared the ice, Ducky snuck on to the ice to practice. He hopes to show the guys how good he is, maybe they will even let him join the team.

(*Dear readers, sorry we have not been posting regularly. We have had lots of family visiting and have been traveling a lot. we hope to be posting more regularly soon.)

Halloween is tomorrow and Ducky and the Gang are not sure what their costume should be. There are so many great options: Super Heroes, Monsters, Army men, Ninjas, Fruit?!?! The list is endless.  Here are some Halloween pictures from the past. Hopefully they decide soon! Halloween is tomorrow!

Pembleton wants to remind everyone to be extra safe on Halloween.

Halloween Safety Tips from the CDC

Ducky and Pembleton are living in a mysterious and amazing place called Haifa, Israel. Every weekend they explore new places in the city. Last weekend, they explored the Haifa zoo and met lots of new friends. Today, Pembleton woke everyone up early and announced that he found an amazing place called the Bahai gardens, right here in Haifa. So they packed their backpacks with snacks and juice and took the bus downtown.

When they first got off the bus, Pembleton said, “that doesn’t look right. We were supposed to be in a different place.” Pembleton checked the map and couldn’t recognize any of the street names. He turned to the others and said, “I’m sorry guys. I think we are lost.”

Ducky turned to him and said, “Don’t worry Pembleton. I’ll ask someone for directions.” Once Ducky got directions from a local puppy, they discovered they were only one street over from the entrance to the Bahai gardens.

The gang spent all day exploring the incredible Bahai gardens, and when they were done, they finished the afternoon with lunch and an ice cream cone. Before heading home, they stopped back at the base of the gardens for a group photo. It was a pretty awesome day.

"Whoa! That's quite a view!"

“Whoa! That’s quite a view!”

With the start of the new school year, Ducky decided to start a new club at school. Every Monday at lunch time members of his new club- The Pooh Bear Society, would meet. Club members wear red shirts at meetings, and eat their lunch from honey pots, that sometimes contains honey. Afterwards, they play pooh sticks and other fun games until it’s time to go back to class. Ducky says, Mondays used to be the worst day of the week, but now it’s one of his favorites!

Happy Birthday To Ducky Adventures!

Ducky and the gang have been apart of our family for years, but it wasn’t until last year that we finally shared them with the world! On September 18th, 2012 we posted our first blog post on Ducky Adventures (Hello World). Since then, it has been a fun and wild ride.

In between school, work and traveling in our real lives, we have gotten to explore their amazing world with Ducky’s Business Tips, Pembleton’s Labs, and some of our series (Case of the Missing Sloth and Mystery of the Desert Sands). This year we posted 153 blogs post and hopefully we will post even more this coming year. We had such a fun year, and we can’t wait to see what happens in the next!

Some (but NOT all) favorites!

While on their Italian vacation, Ducky and the gang stopped by the Leaning Tower of Pisa and things got a bit hairy…

Tip # 5 Pay the Bills!

Tip # 5 Pay the Bills!

Tip # 5

Always pay the Bills on time.

This tip seems obvious, but if your business is booming, like Ducky’s and your having fun- you might let it slip your mind. One time Ducky forgot to pay the Bills and they were really angry! So mark your calendars and set a Google reminder! Because no one wants the Bills to show up uninvited.

Summer vacation is coming to an end and before the gang goes back to school, they decided to clean up the house. At first Ducky didn’t want to. He thought it would be too much work, but Pembleton convinced him.  “If we all pitched in and work together, it won’t be too hard,” Pembleton said as he got out the cleaning supplies.

Ducky cleaned the bathroom, while the rest of the gang focused on the family room. It was a big job, but the cookies afterwards were worth it.

"Who put Cheerios in the toilet?" Ducky asked.

“Who put Cheerios in the toilet?” Ducky asked.

The Great Tedzini put on his first show this weekend, to a packed house in our living room. Ted and Blizzard had been practicing in secret for days after getting a magic book from the local library. So when Pembleton witnessed Ted saw Blizzard in HALF he was HORRIFIED! But Ted and Blizzard just laughed, because they knew it was just an illusion.
