Once Ducky and the gang were discovered as intruders, the jig was up. The cat pirates rounded them up and snatched Ducky’s mustache off.

“Who do we have here?” said Captain One Mitten. “Well if it isn’t my arch nemesis Ducky and Pembleton. Because of you, Egor has turned soft. He now volunteers at a nursing home and is doing community theater. It disgusts me how he is such a stinkin’ do good-er.”

“Community theater? Sounds interesting. What’s his next play?” Ducky asked.

“WHAT?!?! Never mind you. Keep your mouth shut, while I come up with an evil plan to deal with you and this time you won’t get away.”

Just as he spoke his last word, there were high pitched sirens from outside on the docks.

“This is Scotland Yard. You are surrounded. Come out with your paws up and don’t try any funny business.” Chief Bear-Brown yelled through the megaphone.

“NO!!!!! How do you always foil my plans?” Captain One Mitten yelled, as one of his crew members confirmed they were surrounded by the Scotland Yard K-9 Unit.

“You see my dear fellow, Inspector Conrad, or you may know him as Mousetrap, contacted his colleagues at Scotland Yard and requested back up before we entered your hide out. You never stood a chance, especially once Ducky, or should I say Cheeseball, started the piratey celebration.” Pembleton replied. “Now let’s get Mr. Sloth back to Abigale and the crown jewels back to the museum.”

Realizing they had been defeated. The cat pirates and Captain One Mitten were marched out of the cannery, by Conrad and were off to the pokey.

Next, the finale…

"Come out with your hands up!"

Inside.

Once inside the look-out asked, “So what do they call yas?”

Pembleton was caught off gaurd, but Ducky quickly replied, “I’m Cheeseball, here’s my buddy Mousetrap,” pointing to Conrad, “And this is my other buddy Heathcliff McGee,” pointing to Pembleton.

“Umm…nice names. Come on in, were are preparing to load up the ship”, he said while leading them through the cannery.

“Quick we need a distraction,” Pembleton whispered.

“No, problem.” Ducky answered with a wink.

When they reached the other cats, Pembleton and Ducky saw it was in fact the sinister Captain One Mitten leading this dastardly endeavor. The cat pirates had almost finished loading up the boxes and would soon be shipping out to sea. Ducky hollered at the top of his lungs, “Such a treasure calls for a great piraty celebration!” and he began to sing “ninety-nine bottles of milk on the wall.” All the cats joined in, including Captain One Mitten.

While the other cats were distracted, Pembleton snuck over to the corner and found Abigail’s father tied up next to the robot. The robot was sad because Captain One Mitten had not only taken the crown he had stolen, but also the gold metal he had won during Robofest. Even worse, Abigail’s father was disappointed in him for participating in Captain One Mitten’s evil plan.

Pembleton untied Abigail’s dad and they snuck towards the front door. Pembleton tried to get Ducky’s and Conrad’s attention, but they were too carried away singing and merry making.  As Pembleton tried to get their attention, one of the pirates accidently stepped on Ducky’s tail, which then detached. First the pirate was horrified that he had so easily hurt Cheeseball. But then realized as Ducky continued to sing, that Cheeseball and his friends were in fact intruders and began to shout, “Intruders!”

The Chase.

Ducky, Pembleton, and Conrad dashed out of the museum and in to the dark London streets.

“Where did he go?” Ducky asked.

“That’s the easy part. Do you see the dark puddles on the road? The robot is leaving us a trail of oil we can follow. Let’s go.” Pembleton exclaimed.

“Wait. I know a faster way,” said Conrad as he hailed a taxi. “Stop in the name of the law. I hereby commandeer this taxi by the authority of her majesty, the Queen.”  The taxi driver was a little confused, but quickly got out of the car as Ducky, Pembleton, and Conrad climbed in.

“Where do you think he is going?” Ducky asked.

“I think I might know, but let’s not take our chances. Follow that trail!” Pembleton shouted.

The Getaway.

Pembleton ran into the crown jewel exhibit just in time to see the robotic thief smash the bulletproof glass on the case containing the royal crown. Without hesitating Pembleton dove across the room and grabbed onto one of the robot’s legs to slow him down, but the robot was so strong that he just kept walking. When Ducky and Conrad made it into the room, Ducky grabbed Pembleton’s feet, and Conrad held on to one of Ducky’s feet. With all of their combined strength, they only managed to slow the robot. He just kept moving towards the window that he broke in through.

Pembleton frantically pulled out some wires in the robots leg but it only made the robot move faster! Eventually they had to let the robot go. It jumped out the window and ran into the darkness of the night.

CRASH! A window in the crown jewels exhibit hall broke. The Cat Pirates had forced Mr. Sloth to reprogram his robot to steal the crown jewels.

On the other side of the building, Ducky asked, “What was that noise?”

“I think a window just broke. Quick, we need to investigate.” Pembleton shouted.

The Museum.

Pembleton, Ducky and Conrad took a taxi to the museum. When they reached the London Animal Museum, Ducky was amazed by how large it was. The building took up two city blocks and was made of marble.

They climbed the marble staircase to the main entrance. There they were met by two mole security guards wielding squirt guns.

“Freeze or you’ll get a mouth full of cold stinky swamp water,” one mole said with a Scottish accent.

“No! Don’t shoot, I’m Conrad, Investigator with Scotland Yard!”

Conrad hurriedly explained the situation and the other mole radioed in for the central security chief to let them in the museum. They entered the huge lobby and were greeted by a several museum exhibits.

“Whoa! Check out this wooly mammoth skeleton. I wish Ted was here to see this. It’s AWESOME!” Ducky exclaimed.

“Ducky, we can’t get distracted now! Abigail is counting on us. We need to find the crown jewel exhibit. Once there we need to figure out how to stop the cat pirates and rescue Abigail’s dad!” Pembleton said as they rushed up the steps to search the rest of the museum.

The Pirate Ship.

“What is your theory Pembleton?” asked Conrad.

“Do you think a cucumber thief is involved?” Ducky asked.

“No, Ducky. The Cat Pirates.” DUN-DUN-DUN, Pembleton replied. “They have taken Mr. Sloth, but I am not sure why, yet. We need to search the ship.”

They went to investigate the pirate ship. They looked through every nook and cranny. Then Pembleton found a box. He used a crowbar to open it. Ducky tried to help and almost fell overboard. In the box, they found a bottle of ant-acids, some cans of tuna fish, some disguises, along with a couple of maps of London.

"Does this ship, belong to who I think it belongs to?"- Ducky

“Does this ship, belong to who I think it belongs to?”- Ducky

While Pembleton examined the markings and notes on the maps, Conrad discovered a brochure. The brochure had information about an exhibit of the crown jewels at the London Animal Museum.

“Doesn’t that exhibit open tomorrow?” Ducky asked. “They always have the best snacks at their opening celebration.”

“That means they are going to try and  steal the crown jewels, before the opening tomorrow.” Pembleton concluded. “We have to go to the museum right away!”

The Docks.

By the time they arrived at the docks, a thick fog covered the harbor. Pembleton said to Ducky and Conrad, “Be on the look out for our next clue.”

They began to survey the area, searching high and low. Conrad, armed with his magnifying glass, found some bolts. “These have to be from Mr. Sloth’s robot. I think we are getting close.”

“I concur,” Pembleton replied, as he noticed another hairball.

“I found a clue! I found a clue!” shouted Dr. Ducky, “I think it will be the one to break the case.”

“Really? What is it Ducky?” Pembleton asked.

“You got to come see this,” Ducky said with excitement.

“Umm… Is that a cucumber?” Conrad asked.

“Actually it’s a clue-cumber.” Ducky corrected him.

“No, Ducky. That is just a cucumber. However, that pirate ship behind you is definitely a clue.” Pembleton replied. “This confirms my theory.”

The Clues.

On their way to the docks, Conrad asked Pembleton, “Why on Earth are we going to the docks? What possibly could those measly clues have told you?”

Pembleton began to explained as they walked the foggy, brisk London streets towards the docks. “The first clue, was that Abigail could not stop sneezing. Now, why would that be? I asked myself. It is not allergy season, and she is a healthy child with no sign of illness. Then I remembered last year when she got a kitten for her birthday, and she could not stop sneezing. She is allergic to cats. This leads to our second clue.”

Aaaachooo!!!

Aaaachooo!!!

“At Mr. Sloth’s laboratory, we found a hairball. This confirmed it was a cat, but it also provided some more insight. There is one cat in particular who has crossed my path before, who has such a problem. I’ll explain more about that later.”

Gross! A hairball.

Gross! A hairball.

“Finally that leaves our last clue. The tuna fish sandwich. This  again confirms we are dealing with cats, but it also tells us their location. I know of this stinky, horrendous brand of tuna fish. It is canned right here in London at the docks. You can smell it from a kilometer a way. Once there, I’m sure my final prognosis will be confirmed,” said Pembleton.

Stinky!

Stinky!

“What’s your final prognosis, Pembleton?” Ducky asked.

“Just wait, Ducky. All in good time,” Pembleton replied.

Before going to the laboratory, Ducky and Pembleton stopped by their next door neighbor Mrs. Cottontail’s house  to drop off Abigail and the little guys. At first Ted and Blizzard didn’t want to stay. They wanted to help search for clues, but once they caught a whiff of the freshly baked cookies Mrs. Cottontail had made, they forgot all about the case. Pembleton practically had to drag Ducky away from the cookies so that they could get on with their investigation.

At the end of their street was Dr. Sloth’s laboratory. Ducky and Pembleton didn’t see anything unusual outside of the old stone building or as they climbed to the fourth floor. Once at the laboratory, it was obvious there had been a struggle. Pembleton said to Ducky, “Don’t touch anything and be as quiet as possible while I’m assessing the crime scene!”

The laboratory was silent. Pembleton was scanning the room for clues, and Ducky was reminiscing about Mrs. Cottontail’s cookies. Then a loud voice startled them. “Stay where you are! This is Scotland Yard!”

Ducky and Pembleton both jumped.

“Who are you?” asked the inspector.

“I’m Pembleton and this my esteemed colleague Dr. Ducky. We are investigating who took Abigail’s father.”

“I’ve heard of your adventures. I’m Conrad, Alligator Investigator, at her majesty’s service. I’m responding to a report of suspicious activity in the area. You can continue your investigation, as long as you tell me everything that you find and keep me informed of your activities. What have you found so far?”

Pembleton stepped forward and explained, “I’m working on a theory. Based on the hairball at your feet, the half eaten tuna fish sandwich in the corner, and the fact that Abigail could not quit sneezing, can only mean one thing. We must go to the docks immediately! Tally ho!”

The Case of the Missing Sloth (Part 1)

Late one night, Ducky was sitting in the DtPb PI office snacking on some cookies in the dark, when all of a sudden there was a knock on the door. The noise startled Ducky but thankfully not enough for him to drop a cookie. Ducky adjusted his hat and said, “Come in.” As the door slowly creaked open, Ducky didn’t know what to expect. He wondered, would it be an aardvark with an adventure, a monkey with a mystery, or a rodent with a riddle?

When the door finally opened Ducky was surprized to find Ted huffing and puffing from opening that huge office door all by himself. Ted wanted to know if Ducky wanted to watch a movie together and eat some popcorn, while he manned the office. So they watched a movie and ate popcorn.

In response to the information from Ducky and the gang, the police came to arrest Captain One Mitten and Egor, but when they arrived the cages were empty. A thorough search of the premises revealed nothing. The camel cops radioed in their findings and returned home empty handed.

Bearistotle’s Treasure.

They slowly entered the room, not knowing what to expect. On the ceiling there was an colorful mosaic depicting a galaxy and hundreds of stars. It was so beautiful, they almost forgot why they were there. At the top of the ceiling there was an oculus letting in a beam of light, shining down onto a pedestal in the center of the room.

“What is this? A BOOK! We came all this way for a stinking BOOK!?!” Ducky shouted as he looked at the pedestal.

“Wait a second! Ducky. Books can be very valuable treasures. I need to examine it.” Multilingual Mole said as he and Pembleton took a closer look.

“What are all those pots for Ducky?” Ted asked.

“Maybe those are filled with treasure.” Blizzard added.

“Good thinking.” Ducky said as he waddled over and opened one of the lids. “Oh My Goodness! GOLD! The tasty kind.”  Ducky dipped his wing into the pot of honey, just for a taste. “Oh, this is the good stuff.”

“Wait Ducky!” Pembleton shouted, but it was too late. Ducky had already dived in.

“This book, isn’t just any book.” Multilingual Mole explained. “It is Bearistotle’s mother’s famous recipe book.” Ted and Blizzard ‘Oooed’ and ‘Aaaawed’ as Multilingual Mole named delicious recipe, after recipe.  He then continued, “She made the best baklava in all the land, but her recipes were believed to have been lost in the great fires of Alexandria.” At this point, Multilingual Mole was giddy with excitement, as was Pembleton and the little guys. “This find is not only important for history and prosperity, but also the good of animal kinds tummies.”

As Multilingual Mole and Pembleton thumbed through other famous and delicious recipes Ducky, who had finally gotten unstuck from the honey pot came over and asked, “So what’s this your looking at!” Everyone turned to Ducky and gave him the stink eye.

“Weren’t you listening?” Pembleton asked.

“Actually, it’s a little hard to hear. I have honey in my ears.” Ducky replied.

Once they had examined the treasure. They made preparations to return to the nearest city. There they reported the cat pirates to the authorities and told them their location. Then Multilingual Mole and Pembleton held a press conference, announcing they had uncovered the Mystery of the Desert Sands. Amanda Panda and Penelope Penguin, donated their pendents to a local museum and in appreciation of their gift, the museum had two replicas made for the girls. Cornelius questioned the female camel that had been working with the cat pirates and was relieved to find out she had no idea what they were up to. Before handing the recipe book over to the museum for safe keeping, Ducky and the gang made a batch of Mama Bearistotle’s baklava! It was so good, they had to make another.

Unlocking the Mystery of the Desert Sands.

Before handing over the pendants, Amanda Panda and Penelope Penguin slid the two charms together. The halves formed the key Multilingual Mole would need to open the massive, ancient doors that stood before them.

Multilingual Mole translated the encryption on the pendent, “MORE THAN THIS KEY IS NEEDED TO UNLOCK THE MYSTERY OF THE DESERT SANDS. AS THE HALVES OF THIS PENDANT COME TOGETHER TO FORM A MESSAGE, SO TOO THE SECRETS OF BEARISTOTLE’S CHAMBER WILL ONLY BE REVEALED BY WORKING TOGETHER.”

"Cool! These are the best friendship pendants ever!"

“Cool! These are the best friendship pendants ever!”

“What does that mean? Haven’t we done enough teamwork for one adventure?” Ducky asked.

“I think it means that it will take all of us to unlock the mystery and the door.” Pembleton said.

“But how? I don’t even see a keyhole”, Amanda said, as she looked back and forth between the pendent and door.

“I think we might be too little”, said Ted sadly.

“Yeah, look how big those doors are, and how little we are”, Blizzard agreed.

“I got it!” Pembleton shouted. “How about we become big!”

“What does that mean? Are you drinking enough water? I think you might be loosing it!” Ducky replied.

“No, I’m not losing it! Each of us may be little, but together we can do big things! Haven’t you learned anything from our previous adventures?” Pembleton explained, “We need to climb on top of each other so we can see higher up! Maybe with Cornelius’ help, we can find the lock.”

They all climbed onto Cornelius’ back to get a better view. They searched for anything that might match the shape of the pendent. After searching for several minutes, Penelope tugged on Pembleton’s wing and then whispered, “Do you think that could be it? Up there?” she asked.

“Yeah! I think you found it!” Pembleton shouted with joy. He startled shy Penelope, and caught her before she fell off the hump. Both of them blushed a little, but then they got back to work.

Ducky, Ted, Pembelton, and Blizzard quickly formed an animal ladder on top of Cornelius and passed the pendent up the chain. Once Ted, at the top, received the pendent, Amanda told them, “Scoot to the right. No the other rights you nimrods! No, now that is too far! STOP! Right there Ted!” Then Ted slid the pendant into the cave wall and pushed it into place. There was a loud click, but then nothing happen.

They waited for about 10 seconds before they heard the rumble of stone doors sliding open. “It worked! It worked!” Multilingual Mole shouted as he did the happy dance. “Now lets see this treasure.”

Stay tuned for the GRAND FINALE!

“Don’t try to move!” Captain One Mitten snarled. Ducky and the gang were cornered and Captain One Mitten had a sword.

“We surrender! Don’t hurt us!” They all yelled.  Captain One Mitten then led them into the cave where Amanda Panda and Penelope Penguin were being held, along with Multilingual Mole.

“What are you going to do to us?” Pembleton asked as he, along with Ducky, Ted, and Blizzard were forced in to an empty cage.

“I, Captain One Mitten, will have my revenge. I have not forgotten about what happen on the island. You cost me my treasure. I plan on come up with something extra dastardly to do to you all. It will be the most terrible,  dreadful, fearsome, frightening, ghastly, horrendous, horrible…”

Ducky quietly whispered to Pembleton, “Don’t bad guys know once they start monologuing, the good guys always win?”

As Captain One Mitten was blowing hot air, and reciting the details of his evil plan, Ted and Blizzard slipped through the bars and tip-toed over to where Cornelius was tied up, just under Amanda and Penelope’s cage. Ted and Blizzard were able to open the satchel and retrieve the stinky boot, which they tossed to Amanda.

Amanda first was disgusted by the revolting odor, but then she knew what she needed to do. Captain One Mitten was still monologuing about how once he got Multilingual Mole to figure out how to open the door to his riches, he was going to do “the most appalling, atrocious, awful, monstrous, gris-” That was when Amanda chucked the stinky boot and smacked him across the noggin.

They all froze, as Captain One Mitten teetered and tottered back and forth while trying to finish his monologue. Then he fell to the ground with a loud ‘thud’.

“Wow, I’m surprised we can’t see birds flying around his head. Good aim, Amanda!” Ducky said with a little awe in his voice.

“I know.” Amanda said proudly.

“Pembleton, what would we have done, if I didn’t pack that stinky boot?” Ducky asked as Ted and Blizzard released them from their cage, but Pembleton acted as if he didn’t hear him. Soon everyone was released. Then Ducky and Pembleton dragged the Captain into the now empty cage and told Egor to get into the cage too.

“Okay, now lets get out of here!” Amanda firmly stated.

“Wait!” Multilingual Mole shouted. “We can’t leave the mystery unsolved. We have come all this way and this mystery has laid uncovered for hundreds of years. The ancient test reads ONLY THE FAINT OF HEART WILL BE ABLE TO UNCOVER BEARISTOTLE’S GOLDEN TREASURE THAT LAY BEYOND THIS DOOR. Now I need to see the girls pendents to figure out how to unlock the door.”

Reluctantly, Amanda and Penelope, who had retrieved their pendents from Captain One Mitten, handed them over to Multilingual Mole.

Over the Edge!

After they were able to open the secret passageway, Ducky and the gang entered the dark tunnel, along with Cornelius. It was so dark, they could barely see anything. Before heading too far in, Pembelton took the old blanket and wrapped it around the stick to make a torch. He asked Ducky to hold the torch, while he lit the torch using his flint key chain, he always carries just in case of emergencies like this.

The tunnel twisted and turned downward, deep beneath the desert sands. They nervously followed the path. In the distance they could hear Amanda Panda, giving Captain One Mitten an ear full about how horrible their conditions were.

“You call this a falafel! I wouldn’t feed this to a rat!” she shouted.

“We must be getting close.” Ducky whispered to Cornelius, who whispered to Ted, who whispered to Blizzard, who then whispered to Pembleton. “What? Wet mustard boogied in the closet?” Pembleton whispered back to Blizzard. “What does that mean?”

“I don’t know. Just keep going.” Blizzard said as he hopped up on Pembleton’s back. He was getting tired.

They were almost at the end of the tunnel, when Pembleton stopped them. “Okay. We need to come up with a plan.”

“What do you mean? We just go in there and stop the bad guys!” Ducky said, walking towards the cave. “Why do you have to…”

Before Pembleton could stop him or Ducky could finish his statement, the floor opened beneath him. Ducky began to plummet towards a pit of sharp spikes. Luckily, Cornelius had fast reflexes and a long neck and was able to catch Ducky by the webbed toes before any harm was done. But unfortunately Captain One Mitten had hear Ducky’s scream and commotion caused by the booby trap.

By the time Ducky was back on solid ground, Captain One Mitten and Egor, had the gang surrounded.

Secret Entrance.

They looked everywhere for the trigger mechanism that must open the secret passage, but they couldn’t find it anywhere. Eventually Ted and Blizzard got tired and started to play in the sand. Cornelius decided to take another nap, but Ducky and Pembleton kept searching until the Sun started to go down.

Suddenly, Cornelius’ ears perked up and he sniffed the air. Then he said in a low deep voice, “Everyone hide, someone is coming!”

Ducky, Pembleton, and Cornelius hid behind a giant obelisk, while Ted and Blizzard hid behind a sand dune. They waited for what seemed like forever before anyone but Cornelius could hear someone coming. Then they saw Captain One Mittin’s first mate, Egor, leading a camel with a large sack through the desert. When the camel, wearing a large purple bow, got closer they could see that the sack actually contained a prisoner.

First Ducky whispered, “It’s the cat pirates, again!”

Then Pembleton whispered, “That’s Multilingual Mole tied to the camel’s back! We need to rescue him.”

Cornelius tilted his head to get a better look at the female camel. Losing his mind with infatuation, he was about to whistle, when Pembleton managed to clasp his wing over Cornelius’ lips.

“Get a hold of yourself”, Pembleton whispered harshly.

“Sorry”, sighed Cornelius quietly.

Then they watched as Egor walked directly toward the wall where they had seen the foot prints leading into the wall. Egor hopped on top of the female camel’s back and used a gnarled staff to press a tiny button high up on the wall. The wall itself began to slide away revealing a long dark tunnel. When Egor was out of sight the wall slid back into place.

Pembleton examined the button that Egor had pressed to open the secret entrance. It was too high to reach even on top of Cornelius’ back. “How are we going to reach that button?” asked Pembleton.

“Don’t you remember. I packed a long stick”, said Ducky. “We can stand on Cornelius back and use the stick to reach the button.”

“Wow! Good thinking Ducky”, agreed Ted and Blizzard.

“See! I packed some useful stuff”, said Ducky.

Pembleton reluctantly climbed on top of Cornelius and used Ducky’s stick to press the button. The secret door slid open and they entered the long dark tunnel.

“Give us back our pendants! You ruffian!” shouted Amanda Panda & Penelope Penguin.

“Arrr… Be quiet. The only good thing about prison, was the peace and quiet. I didn’t escape to hear your belly aching. ” Captain One Mitten shouted back at the girls. “Once Egor gets here with that blasted mole, I’ll be able to unlock the treasure with your ‘friendship’ pendents.”

“Why do you need our pendents? They are ours. We got them fair and square from that antique dealer.” Amanda told the Captain.

“The dealer, said they were worthless and gave them to us for a bargain.” Added Penelope.

“One animal’s trash, is another animal’s treasure. Or in my case, a key to an ancient temple that was buried by a terrible sand storm hundreds of years ago. Once we unlock the temple. I will be RICH! Hahahaha!” Captain One Mitten cackled (huhu), “hairball.”

“Let us go.” Penelope begged.

“No. I can’t let you alert the authorities. Don’t worry, if your good, I’ll only make you walk the plank.” Captain One Mitten replied.

“You won’t get away with this! When our friends, find out, and they will, they will send you back to jail.” Amanda said sneeringly.

“I escaped, once, I can do it again.”

Desert Ruins.

They reached the end of the map.

“There is no one here! What do we do now?” asked Ducky. “Maybe we took a wrong turn.”

“I don’t think so. I double checked the map, plus there are too many ruins here to be a coincidence”, said Pembleton. “Everyone take a look around. Maybe we will find a clue.”

Ducky, Ted, Pembleton, and Blizzard hopped off Cornelius and began to explore. Cornelius decided to take a nap. Ducky looked high and low – but mainly low – as he was unable to climb most of the ruins. Pembleton carefully climbed to the top of a pillar to survey the area, but he didn’t see anything except more ruins. When they met back near Cornelius, Ted and Blizzard reported they didn’t find anyone but they found two pretty ribbons. They thought they might make nice gifts for Amanda Panda and Penelope Penguin when they got back home.

“WAIT A MINUTE!”, shouted Ducky. “Those ribbons look awfully familiar!”

“You are right, Ducky”, Pembleton added, “Those look exactly like ribbons that Amanda Panda and Penelope Penguin wear all the time. But what are their ribbons doing all the way out here in the desert?”

“I bet Amanda and Penelope are our friends in danger”, Ducky concluded.

“We’ve gotta’ help them”, Ted said.

“No one messes with my friends and gets away with it”, Ducky said sternly. “Whoever is responsible for this mess is in big trouble!”

As Duck and Pembleton untied the ribbons, Blizzard called over to them. “Hey, I found some paw prints over here, and they lead directly into this stone wall. There must be a secret passage in the wall.”

“Good eye Blizzard!” Pembleton said, as they began searching for the trigger that opened the passageway.

Desert Trek.

“Now that we have figured out the map, we need transportation. Any ideas?” Pembleton asked.

“I got an idea!” Ducky shouted. “I’ll be back soon. Stay here with the little guys.”

Ducky went to Ali Baba, owner of Ali Baba Ganoush’s Restaurant and asked if he could borrow his brand new Jeep Cruiser. Unfortunately, Ali had heard about the ‘Great Pudding Disaster of 2011’ and would not allow Ducky anywhere near his new jeep. Instead, he offered the services of Colonel Cornelius, a four humped Camel.

Pembleton was starting to become impatient after 15 minutes of waiting. Their friends, even though he didn’t know which ones, were in trouble. Just as he began to pace, Ducky and his new friend the Colonel, showed up. Ducky had even gotten supplies!

“Hop on! We got some trekking to do!” Ducky exclaimed.

“Wow, Ducky! Great job.” Pembleton said, as he hopped on and took the reins.

“Tally Ho.” Ted and Blizzard shouted as they ventured out in to the unforgiving desert.

The Map.

Once Ducky and Pembleton made sure the poor monkey was being taken care of, they returned to their investigation of the map.

“Where is this map leading us?” Pembleton asked.

“Obviously to the giant red ‘X’!” Ducky answered.

“But where do we start?” Pembleton asked.

“I don’t know. I don’t have all the answers! Wait, why does this map feel crusty?”

“Wait, just one minute.” Pembleton said. Pembleton sniffed the map and his eyes grew big. Ducky knew he was on to something. His super sniffer was never wrong. Pembleton walked over to the table and grabbed a lemon. Now Ducky was just confused. Why did he need a lemon?  Then Pembleton squirted the lemon juice over the crusty area and held it over a candle. Soon a secret message appeared in light brown letter.

“How did you know how to do that?” Ducky asked.

“It’s simple science, you see…” Ducky quickly cut Pembton off.

“You can tell us later. Do you know what this ancient scribble means?” Ducky asked.

“No, but I know someone who does.” Pembleton said. He quickly grabbed his emergency phone and took a picture. “Multilingual Mole will know. He is a professor of ancient texts.” Shortly after sending, Pembleton received a text message back with the translation: TO UNCOVER THE MYSTERY OF THE DESERT SANDS, ONE MUST THIRST FOR KNOWLEDGE, AS BEARISTOTLE ONCE DID.

“Huh?” Ducky said as he scratched his head.

Mystery of the Desert Sands Part 1

Earlier today a package arrived at our front door. Ducky was so excited to see such a large package waiting at our door. He knew it had to be for him. Over the past couple of weeks he has been hinting that he would like a “Rock’em Sock’em Robot” set.  As he jumped up and down in excitement, Ted and Blizzard tried to read the name on the package. It was  a long word that started with a “P”.

“Ducky, what long word starts with a ‘P’?” Ted asked.

“I know!” Said Blizzard. “Doesn’t Pembleton’s name start with a ‘P’?”

“WHAT?!?!” Ducky yelled. “This package isn’t for me?”

Ducky was a little sad. He was really hoping it would be a new toy for him.

Shortly after hearing the commotion. Pembleton came out of the family library and asked what was going on.

“You have a package.” Ted and Blizzard exclaimed in unison.

Ducky and Pembleton receive a mysterious package.

“What?! It’s not for ME?!”

Ducky was rummaging through his old toy box, when he found his sheriff’s costume (badge and all). After making sure everything fit, he started his patrol. While making his rounds, he noticed something was different in the kitchen. He pushed a step stool to the counter, hopped up, and noticed there were NO COOKIES in the cookie jar!

Ducky was so upset. He was on a mission to find the culprit. First, he suspected the Lambs. But they only like ginger snaps and these were chocolate chip. Then he questioned Bear and Appa, but they had not been in the kitchen since dinner. Last, but not least, Ducky interrogated Pembleton.  While giving Pembleton the third degree, Pembleton picked a crumb off of Ducky’s chest feathers and gave him the stink eye. “Excuse me Ducky, but I believe you were the last to eat the cookies. These crumbs are evidence.”

“Umm..Umm… No I didn’t.” Ducky said slowly backing away.

“Yes, you did! The lil’ guys even saw you!” Pembleton accused. “I’m going to need your badge and cap guns, and you’re in time out until the parents get home.”

Ducky stomped his boots and fired off his pop guns into the air yelling “I’m not going to time out and you can’t make me.”

But with one super look, Ducky knew Pembleton was serious. Ducky sadly handed his badge and guns over to Pembleton and marched to time out, pouting along the way.

“You can’t make me go to time out!”
