Ducky and the gang love to camp! Every summer they go out into the wilderness with their animal buddies and spend a couple of days enjoying nature.

Pembleton is in charge of safety and packing the tent. While Ducky is in charge of the camp fire and meals. Ducky takes his job very seriously. He makes sure they have hot cocoa and smores every night and oatmeal for breakfast.

After breakfast, Pembleton taught Ted and Blizzard how to properly put out a camp fire, which is very important before leaving a camp site. Then, they hit the trails.

Ducky and the gang recently went on a Mediterranean Cruise off the coast of Haifa, Israel. They took Pembleton’s new boat, the “USS DtPb,” for a short cruise around Haifa bay.

There was a slight breeze and the sun kept them nice and warm. The weather was perfect for a day out at sea.

Ted and Blizzard had heard that a pod of dolphins often liked to play nearby. They hoped they would be able to see them and maybe even see them do a trick or two.

Ducky was excited, when Pembleton told him the water would be calm today, with the occasional wave. It was perfect for some tubing or water skiing. Shortly after leaving the harbor, Ducky asked, “Is it time to get out my water skis?”

“Full Steam Ahead!”

Last week Mrs. Cottontail received a letter from the North East Animal Society requesting help from animals all around the United States. This winter has been very chilly and with many animals losing their homes during hurricane Sandy, they need extra help to stay warm.

Mrs. Cottontail had the little guys make signs and go door to door asking for blankets and sweaters for animals of all sizes. They received so many donations! Especially from the snow birds in Florida who didn’t need the blankets they brought with them in the fall. They received so many donations, they weren’t sure how to deliver them.  Pembleton had already headed to up north to assemble a group of volunteers to help distribute the donations, so Ducky had to come up with a plan to deliver all the goods. Since Pembleton wasn’t there to tell Ducky “No”, Ducky got his train out of storage, and volunteered to take them up himself on the Ducky Express! He was on his way and this time he was going to follow the rules of the rails and not get in trouble (or so he hoped).

Ducky and Pembleton are enjoying the winter wonderland called New York! This weekend they went to Bear Mountain State Park to go  sledding. They had so much fun racing down the hill and frolicking in the snow. Ducky was so impressed with how fast Pembleton could go on his belly and tried it himself. However, he just rolled down the hill creating a giant snowball around him. Then Ducky got his sled out. Ted and Blizzard were so excited to go sledding for the first time. They couldn’t believe how fast they went down the hill and how good Ducky was at driving the sled.

It’s Snowing! Hooray!

Yesterday after school, Ducky and the gang were enjoying a nice afternoon inside. Pembleton was reading a science book, while Ducky was playing with his toy truck. Ted and Blizzard were getting restless and wanted to go outside. They went to the window to make sure it wasn’t raining, because it was so overcast. When they looked out they couldn’t believe what they saw, so they had to get a closer look. So close their noses were pressed against the cold glass.

“It’s snowing Ducky, I can’t believe it,” cried Ted.

Pembleton put away his book and Ducky slid his truck under his bed, before heading to the window to investigate for themselves. Before they knew it, Blizzard had gotten their scarves out of the closet and they were headed outside to enjoy the first day of snow.

While the gang has been having fun with Halloween this week, they have also been busy helping with Hurricane Sandy Relief. They have received several distress calls from animals who are stranded by flood waters or without food or shelter. Pembleton arranged for everyone to head up to the north east to help. The Lambs passed out blankets and snacks at an animal shelter, while Ducky and Pembleton searched for stranded animals, who needed help.
