Over the weekend Ducky and the gang went to their first ever hockey game! They had so much fun watching the Zamboni circle the rink, they forgot that there was even a game. Then the McGill Redmen took to the ice against the Guelph Gryphons. The game was a nail biter as the puck went back and forth, back and forth. But in the end, the Redmen prevailed 3-2, and Ducky got to keep the winning puck. After the Zamboni cleared the ice, Ducky snuck on to the ice to practice. He hopes to show the guys how good he is, maybe they will even let him join the team.

Hey batter, batter, batter!

Basketball is Pembleton’s favorite sport. So Pembleton was super excited when Mrs. Cottontail told her class about the annual basketball fundraiser. Both Ducky and Pembleton signed up to play, and the whole animal community showed up to the game.

Ted and Blizzard cheered from the sidelines and Amanda Panda kept yelling for Ducky to slam dunk the ball. During the game Pembleton scored one basket. Ducky had a little trouble aiming the ball and never managed to score. When the buzzer sounded Ducky tossed the ball into the air over the basket and into the audience. The crowd cheered! They rushed down to the court and carried both Ducky and Pembleton out of the gymnasium on their shoulders.

The fundraiser earned lots of money for the local humane society, and Mrs. Cottontail said she was proud of them for playing so well.

Ducky is a World Champion Heart-lifter. If it was an Olympic sport, Ducky would have the gold medal, no contest.

What is a Champion Heart-lifter, you might ask. Well a Champion Heart-lifter, is someone with the unique gift of bringing joy and happiness to people having a rough time in life. Ducky often visits children who are in the hospital, or the elderly in nursing homes to lift their hearts and make them laugh.  He always enjoys sharing his snacks with them.

Ducky is a Champion Heart-lifter, but you can be one too. Just be a friend to someone in need.
