Before the holidays kicked off, Ducky and the gang went on a family vacation to the Lake District in Northern England. They went on several boat rides, hiked lots of trails, and even rode some old fashioned choo-choo trains. Each had their own favorite moment.
Ducky’s favorite part was when we got caught in a “lamb jam” (traffic jam caused by grazing sheep), when driving on old country roads. They got several good laughs as humans tried to shoo the sheep off the road.
Pembleton’s favorite part was hiking around Lake Derwentwater. He cataloged different plants and animals he spotted along the hike in his science journal.
Ted’s favorite part was the bird show at Muncaster Castle. He liked seeing the hawks soaring in the sky and swooping over the crowd.
Blizzard’s favorite part was eating lots and lots of sticky toffee pudding! It is his favorite dessert in all of England, especially when topped with ice cream.

Hello from the Lake District!
Ducky and friends have been doing quite a bit of traveling lately. Their lastest adventure was Italia! They visited Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terra, and ROMA! While in Rome, Ducky got into some trouble at the Vatican after he made a minor improvement to some of their artwork.

Late last night Ted and Blizzard woke up Ducky and Pembleton. They couldn’t sleep because they were hearing scary noises coming from the kitchen. Ducky and Pembleton gave Ted and Blizzard a drink of water and told them that the noise was probably just their imagination. They told Ted and Blizzard to try to go back to sleep.
While Ducky was trying to go back to bed, he suddenly became aware of strange crunching noises in the kitchen. Pembleton heard the noise too. Ted and Blizzard were too scared to move, so it was up to Ducky and Pembleton to find out what was going on.
They turned on the light in the kitchen and opened the cabinets. Right under the kitchen sink, they were surprised to find Rumplestiltskin.
“Whoa! How did you get all the way to Israel?”, Ducky asked. Rumplestiltskin explained that all “mice” know about a transatlantic sewer pipe that they can use to travel around the world. Rumplestiltskin had missed Ducky in Texas and caught a whiff of his scent and followed his nose right to Ducky’s new home in Israel.
Pembleton was a little annoyed that Rumplestiltskin came without even warning them, but Ducky was so happy to see his old friend that Pembleton tolerated the visit.
Did you know you can ski in Israel? When Pembleton found out Mt. Hermon had snow and a ski resort, he couldn’t wait to take Ted and Blizzard on their first skiing adventure. Who would have known it would be in Israel?
Even though it was Ted and Blizzard’s first time skiing, they caught on very quickly. Pembleton instructed them on some basic techniques: to go forward keep your skis straight like french fries, to slow down and stop wedge your skis like a slice of pizza and to turn move your hips slightly in the direction you want to go. By the end of the end of the day, the little guys had skiing the bunny slope mastered. Ducky on the other hand, had some problems.
Ducky and the gang finished their East coast road trip yesterday as they drove through Washington D.C., Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and finally to New York! This was their least favorite part of the trip. They were tired and grumpy. While Pembleton, Blizzard and Ted were comfortable with the the cold temperature, Ducky was not! But now that they are in New York and have had some rest, they are ready for more adventures!
- “When did we cross over into Maryland?”
- Are you aware that we are in Delaware?
- WHAT? Where is the real sign?
- Oh! Here it is!
- I’m hungry! I want a bite of the Big Apple.
Over the holidays we have been very busy! Ducky and the gang have seen parts of the United States they have only read about or seen on T.V. It has been a very exciting adventure for them. After spending some time in Florida, they traveled up the east coast visiting Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. They spent their New Years celebrating in our nations capitol Washington DC!
Ducky and the gang would like to wish everyone HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2012 was a totally wicked year,
but 2013 is going to be even more AWESOME!
- Everything is just Peachy!
- What happen to the “S”?
- Is North Carolina next to the North Pole?
- I can’t wait to eat some Virginia Peanuts!
Yesterday Ducky, Pembleton, and the Little guys had their first visit to Disney World! They had so much fun. First they went to the Magic Kingdom where they went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the Jungle River Trek, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, the Tea Cup ride and so much more. Their favorite part was the Christmas Parade! The floats even smelled like Christmas!
They also went all around the world in Epcot; enjoying sights and sounds from China, Morocco, Norway, and so many others. They even got to stop by Animal Kingdom to see the Tree of Life and ride Expedition Everest. Then they finished at the Magic Kingdom where they saw Celebrate the Season, Celebrate the Magic, the Electric Street Parade and finally their night ended with fireworks!
One more day til Christmas!

“We made it! We made it!” Ducky shouted as we rolled into our hotel parking lot. The family finally made it to Disneyworld. Before we got to Orlando we had to drive through Alabama, cross the Florida state line and drive several hours to Orlando. Here are some pictures from the trip yesterday.
- I remember this state… the Aggies beat them!
- We’re almost there!
- Oh yeah! Welcome to the Sunshine State!
Stay tuned for more pictures from our road trip!
For the last 3 months Ducky, Pembleton and the Humans have been planing to move. Before they get to their final destination, they are doing an East Coast Tour! First stop Disney! To quote Ducky, “Today was TOTALLY WICKEDDDD!!!!” The whole family went to the Houston Zoo to visit the animals. Pembleton is a volunteer, which means we get to see all the behind the scene stuff! We got to paint with the elephants, swing in the monkey cages, help the rhinos with their mud bath, and give the bears a back scratch. Everyone was having so much fun, until we got to the lion exhibit.
As Pembleton came out with the lions’ snacks, he was horrified to see Ducky saddling up Jonathan, the male lion, to ride! Before Pembleton could do anything, Ducky hopped on and shouted “Tally Ho.” After bucking around for a few minutes and feeling rather sick, Ducky was ready to get down. However, he had no idea how and Jonathan was looking rather angry. Pembleton knew one way to calm down the giant cat. He reached in to his bucket of snacks and tossed over a PB&J. While the cat was distracted, Pembleton used a net to snag Ducky and move him to safety. Pembleton was very angry at Ducky for breaking the rules (Pembleton hates when people or animals break the rules).
After “the incident” Ducky was no longer invited behind the scenes. Pouting, Ducky went for a swim around Duck Lake and forgot all his troubles. It truly was a “TOTALLY WICKED” day!

This summer, Pembleton brought Ducky and the Lil’ Guys on an expedition to the arctic ocean to conduct research with his new submarine. One day Ducky and Ted were bored and went scuba diving. During their exploration, they found a sunken pirate ship! The ship was old and falling apart. Ducky had to be extra careful. While exploring, he heard a noise. A baby beluga, which was trapped in the wreckage and missing his mama. Ducky and Ted helped navigate the beluga out of the ship wreck. But the beluga didn’t know where his mama was, but knew his underwater address. 221 B Poseidon St. Ducky didn’t know where Poseidon St was, but used Pembleton’s underwater GPS. It wasn’t long before baby and mama were reunited. All thanks to Ducky and Ted. When it was time to go, the baby offered Ted a ride and Ducky gave the baby a kiss. It was a great day!

After the last hurricane, Ducky, Pembleton and the Lil’ Guys headed over to Louisiana to help the animals rebuild their homes. While there, Ted and Blizzard (the Lil’ Guys) found a gator stuck in some fishing lines! He was really scared, so the Lil Guys and Ducky helped keep him calm, while Pembleton cut him free. Suddenly, the gator went into a death roll and some how Ducky and Ted ended up in his MOUTH! Luckily, Ducky’s handy umbrella kept the gator’s jaws wedged open. Ted easily escaped, but it took Pembleton 6 hours to calm the gator down and safely rescue both Ducky and his umbrella.

Yesterday was a busy day for Pembleton, me, and the little guys! When we woke up we heard the news of the new baby Panda being born at the National Zoo. We loaded up Pembleton’s jet. I made sure to pack snacks and juicy cups. Ted and Blizzard had the baby gift (a fuzzy blanket) and we were on our way. Unfortunately Pembleton did not let me fly. He never does, says I need my pilots license first, which is RIDICULOUS! Why do I need a pilot license? I’m Emperor!
We are happy to report baby panda and mama are well. We can’t wait to see more pictures on our favorite website http://www.zooborns.com And guess what?!?! On our way home we stopped for ICE CREAM!! Oh Yeah! (Dance, dance!)
Until next time- Ducky and Ted (D.t.)
